Growing Notes

This fern tolerates very bright conditions, such as sun through a gauzy curtain most of the day. Very bright dappled shade or half-day sun without a curtain will also be sufficient light for this hardy fern.
New growth points (“pups” or “keikis” will form around the primary shield)
This fern can also thrive outdoors where temperatures stay above freezing.

Special Interest

In its Queensland, Australia, habitat, this plant grows away from the coast often on rocks in sun or light shade. Rain falls primarily in the warmer half of the year and averages between 600 mm (24 in) and 1000 mm (40 in) per annum.
