Growing Notes

Fast-growing summer-dry-climate native is easy in mild parts of California. As with all euphorbias, wash sap from skin or eyes immediately.
Tends to get lanky in more shade and needs staking.

Special Interest

One grower notes that they have had this plant in Carmel Valley for almost twenty years in a pot under an eve. They are in Sunset Zone 15 and receive a dusting of snowfall a couple times a year.

There is also a very old one growing out in the foggy avenues of San Francisco, at the entrance to their botanical garden.
